Case study — FundHaus

From nothing to funded in three months.

A private property capital marketplace across New Zealand and Australia. Investors place capital. Operators raise it for their own projects. No brokers, no commission, and a compliance line that could not be crossed.

What we built

Two properties, one system.

A marketing site that sells the idea, and a platform where the deals happen.

The change that moved the numbers

A free account, instead of asking strangers for money.

The original model asked people to pay before they had seen anything. The Observer account shows every live project for free, keeping the structure, the documents and the identity of the person raising behind membership.

One hundred accounts in the first weeks. Every one a warm lead sitting inside the product rather than in an inbox.

The plumbing

Four systems that had to agree with each other.

A payment creates the account, grants community access, syncs the email lists and sends a login. In seconds.

Cancellation runs the same chain backwards. Two database projects, 71 migrations, 78 security policies, 14 edge functions, and a signature-verified payment webhook with an idempotency ledger.

  • Database

    Auth, edge functions, row-level security

  • Payments

    Provisioning and lockout, both directions

  • Community

    Access granted and revoked automatically

  • Email

11 flows, 56 emails, lists synced to payment state

  • CRM

Every lead routed with click IDs attached

Compliance

Removing claims the business could not make.

FundHaus does not verify, vet or approve anyone. The product said otherwise in seven files and two live advertisements.

AI deal scoring, review badges, returns certification, and return figures visible to free accounts. The last one mattered most: hiding a number in the interface leaves it queryable through the API, so it had to come out of the database view itself.

A free account could also write to five database tables. Static review missed all five. Logging in as an observer and attempting an insert found them in one pass.

Acquisition

One hundred creatives, three ad sets.

Fifty ads for the free account, fifty for membership retargeting, every one at three aspect ratios. A five-email nurture sequence. And an email account where all 56 flow emails were repaired after every one was found to have a broken unsubscribe link.

    Ad creative files, fifty concepts

  • 56

  • 1,325

Figures are live production values at the time of writing. FundHaus is an introduction and information service and is not a financial adviser, broker or lender. Capital is introduced between members and is never held by the platform.
